Couples Therapy

Whether you are going through a transition, contemplating marriage, considering parenthood or navigating conflicts and differences, couples therapy can be a space to process and come together.

What is Emotionally Focused Therapy?

EFT is a research-based approach to healing relationships and deepening emotional bonds. EFT is rooted in attachment theory and is used in couples and family therapy. This approach helps shift cycles of conflict, and disconnection by uncovering the deeper emotions and unmet needs that drive relationship struggles. Through this process, partners learn to recognize cycles, express their vulnerabilities, and respond to each other with emotional attunement. Instead of simply discussing change, we actively practice new ways of interacting within the couples sessions. This experiential practice helps to build skills for connection and fosters transformation in the relationship.

I also have greatly learned and benefitted from the work of Esther Perel. You can access her podcast “Where Should We Begin” here.
