Family Therapy
Family Therapy gained popularity in conjunction with system theory. Systems theory states that we tend toward homeostasis, therapy can be helpful for times when it is difficult to create change internally.
Who should attend family therapy?
I work with families in many junctures of life. Maybe are navigating parenthood postpartum and are working through the challenges of having a newborn. Perhaps you have children and are wrestling with some questions about issues arising for them such as anxiety or social concerns such as bullying. Or maybe your family is dealing with conflict between adult relatives. I work with families throughout different stages.
I have a background in child development and have studied theories from child educators such as Montessori as well as psychological theorists in the field of child development such as Winecott and Melanie Klein.
What to expect: family therapy may include some sessions where I meet with certain individuals under the umbrella of the family work and other sessions will be held jointly. I also offer parent coaching sessions.
