Individual Therapy
My work includes various approaches and I am trained in client led modalities. I have been influenced by the work of Carl Rogers and Winnicott who speak about the importance of being witnessed and understood. I occasionally including creative elements in sessions such as art, movement. I also use sand play therapy which can be a powerful way to tap into the subconscious and working with archetypes. Sometimes there is a pressing current issue that is coming up in session and other times we may have spaciousness to go deep into existential questions about life.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting was founded by an advanced EMDR trainer. With this approach, we tap into the brain’s innate ability to heal itself. By use specific eye positions to process trauma, emotional blocks, and unconscious patterns that keep us stuck. This powerful practice bypasses the thinking mind and allows the body’s wisdom to guide the healing process, leading to profound emotional release and transformation.
Brainspotting differs from EMDR in that it is less manualized and therefore we have freedom to explore what feels right for you. I will generally offer to start by focusing on something that feels important for you.
Whether you are navigating past traumas, relationship challenges or transitions, I offer a compassionate space for your healing. Together we will work with the nervous system, breath, and embodied awareness to release what no longer serves you and call in clarity and resilience.
